BBC Hip Hop

April 2004 / PHCR11MP3

My first 'proper' album is an 80s Brit electropop-influenced collection.

It's arguably more musical than lyrical, although it does discuss Ceefax as a metaphor for colonialism and the impact of Quantum Theory on diary management.

Fittingly, it got its first review on Teletext.

The tracks are all free to download, but if you like what you hear, please think about slipping us a pound or two via PayPal.

If you like physical music product, I still have a few CD copies kicking around. Give me a shout if you're interested in having one, and I'll decide what tiny amount of money I want for a copy.

Quotes

"...superb second solo effort...crammed full of infectious synth-fuelled tracks..."Low Paranoia Threshold" being easily one of the most brilliantly brooding songs of the year, and that includes you Interpol".
[The List]
"...part early Human League, part later Human League and part all the bands that cite Human League as their major influence...leaves you thinking how Kraftwerk could have been if only they'd spent their lives on the dole watching Ceefax through the night".
[Robots & Electronic Brains]
"Old-skool sparsity techno and primitive electro-pop at it's very best".
[Vanity Project fanzine]
"McGazz delivers some engaging electro which stands out from an overcrowded market for bedsit synth-driven tunes...it's a lot of fun".
